Citigroup Report Further Fuels Debate About the Future of Gold
Or if you'd like to data mine a different way, it's up quite a bit from $300-$350 range of 2003. ;-)

Your headline is misleading....BAC has not yet acquired MER, since shareholder approvals have not yet been acquired (as you later state in your own article).

Better Than the Depression? Don't Kid Yourselves
I have a rule I used successfully all my life....personally and professionally: one is not allowed to curse the darkness unless they also light some candles.

This author is so busy cursing the darkness, he's forgotten what a candle even looks like, much less how to light one.

      The Dow's Lost Decade
Write a headline, then mine for data to prove it .....the time honored way for most folks out there. I wonder what the figures would look like for the previous decade....?

Talk about in-depth analysis....NOT! You guys amaze me with your lack of any thought whatsoever, just a few selective statistics to support a "hype" headline.

Democrats or Republicans: Who's Better for Wall Street?
Try a correlation of the stock market and when a party controls BOTH the Presidency AND Congress ( doesn't matter which party ), versus when control of the two is split. You'll find that the market does best when power is split ( i.e. less governmental action ) than when EITHER party controls both.

Here I Go, Criticizing Warren Buffett
There are so many errors of fact/judgement in this article it's not even worth the effort to go through them. Suffice it to say that by your standards of who can talk about stocks on TV without being unethical, CNBC would be deserted. Anyone watching Warren on CNBC who didn't know about the BRK/GE deal shouldn't be investing in stocks!

      What utter dreck!

Why the Financial Markets Haven't Responded
It's OUR collective fault..."we the people"! We elect Congresses that spend, spend, spend,....we elect Presidents that promise a chicken in every pot ( without having a clear plan as to "how" they'll produce those chickens)...we expect a risk-free existence a la our "when in doubt, sue somebody" legal system....we live way beyond our means versus below them....and we value what we want right now, versus having the discipline to wait. Have I mentioned that our education system sucks...yet we keep on voting in the bozos of BOTH parties, because they look good on TV...or promise us something for nothing...yet both parties produce the same old labyrinth of tired programs.

Net/Net: We have met the enemy...and he is US!
Stop blaming Bush, Clinton, Congress, etc, etc., ...and simply look in the collective mirror. Until we "grow up" as a society and get back to some core values, we have no one to blame but ourselves.
