Retail Sales Report: Do Facts Mean Nothing?
I just want to get along :) I do not like facts...they are inconvenient! The truth is also...ask Washington Mutual.

You sound like an expert! One question, formed in haste, are the economies now and then equal? In other words...would they both suffer the same dislocations with a 2% rate?

ECB vs. the Fed: Is There a 'Right Way' to Handle the Credit Crunch?
I wonder about your statistics. With housing falling like a rock even though this is not included in CPI we are having deflation over here...not inflation.
I guess the question is which framework should we use the Keynesian or Austrian?
Did you know that our central bank that just prints money out of thin air is not authorized by our constitution? Our founding fathers understood what an inflation tax is from the clipping of coins in England!

Economic Facts: U.S. Economy Is Doing Quite Well
Alas, are you a cool aid drinker also? How much faith do you put into these unemployment figures? Do you have an agenda? I figure if I am intelligent enough to ask the questions, then you should be brave enough to look inward...do some cognitive work...and anchor your true beliefs to reality by looking around you.

The New CPI Is Better, More Precise Than the Old CPI
I want to give you credit for your reasoning process, even if it is skewed. Inflation that I feel does not pass the stink test when compared to the government figures. I am a big picture guy...you know inductive...you seem to be lost in the details and perhaps following a path blindly because you cannot see the forest...just a thought that is original and not copied from somebody else.

A Tale of Two Monetary Policies
Your forgetting, rather convieniently, I might add that central banks cause inflation in the first place by printing too much money or taking the easy way out!

yeah, yeah, I know broken. But the author of this article is forgetting that inflation is less and oh yeah...don't count out the consumer.

Cheap and Green: Homebuilding Trends [Housing Tracker]
I am shamelessly going to promote a company which is not followed by any analyst yet. The company just restructured and is now oriented to be a type of utility providing electric power through technically advanced solar solutions. They have solar membranes, architectural glass, and finally solar tiles. They already tried the low cost producer but found the strain on working capital to be too much. Their symbol is OEGY and they do trade on the bb, so buyer be ware. They very recently had a wealthy individual decide to invest 20 million dollars, so hey, maybe they have a chance. They will develop their first solar community this summer. As I say I have owned this long-term play since 2004 at the moment they got out of the oil and gas into alternative energy. Heck, solar was not even hip back then. They may not be profitable this year, but I am suggesting watching them and keep your ears open as this article pointed out...solar communities sure move housing.

With the downgrades of financial s like GS, etc, as a background, I now see plenty of up trends in the above quoted charts...even though the author tries to minimize or appears to minimize on the surface, the risks involved.

Many Investors Seem To Think the Worst Is Over
I agree with Daniel K, that wall street advisers appear to pump stocks and we let them because we say " oh someone safe please help me because I can't do my own research and I need to know...I think they know more about this darn stuff than I do."
On the market, I wish I could be bold enough to claim to know the answers, but I do know that we are headed up eventually.

The Housing Problem: What Inning is It?
Hussman sounds and feels less than an honest person to be sure. Often commenter's let their personal biases get in the way of reality whether it is genetically or environmentally mediated. The reason he does not walk his talk is anyones guess...only he can perform meta cognition on himself to discover this for himself...if he is willing and able.
