Jim Rogers' Picks and Pans - Barron's Interview
Jim Rogers is spot-on with regard to the growing influence of China (unfortuntely, some of us let our nationalism interfere with our pragmatism). This shift is moving slowly as China makes reforms in both it's economic and political institutions. It should be expected that China's economy will have massive peaks and valleys as reforms are implemented. I've seen a number of Jim Rogers interviews -- it would be helpful if he would make it clear that investments in China have huge short-term risks to go along with the equally huge long-term potential rewards.

Why I am Selling Thornburg Mortgage
user 174636, I'll take a piece of that -- it's not a question of what Bush has done for the economy (or you), it is a question of your investing smarts.

Market Bottom Already? I Don't Think So
Well done. I very much appreciate a well-thought out position (either pro or con). Questions: (a) Have you considered that Congress may be on the verge of some sort of bail-out for mortgage holders?; and (b) have you considered that the markets tend to look over the immediate problems to what is the most likely situation 6-months out?...If either/both of these come into play, how would it moderate your position?

Economic Drubbing Should Subside - Temporarily
Seems to me we need people with a negative view to keep us grounded in reality...but to predict "another drubbing" without mention of the unforeseen factors causing it seems negative for the sake of being negative. (Also, it seems "i Think Big" is thinking very small to suggest that the US is going from tail that wags the dog, to dogshit in only 4 years). In summary, this kind of negativity lacks credibility, and is therefore a waste of my time.

Rebalancing Can Be Hazardous to Your Portfolio
THANK YOU...I always suspected the 'annual rebalance' mantra was a drumbeat to lemming-like results; furthermore, I try to make it a habit to be suspect when faced with one-size-fits-all rules. This Monte Carlo study is convincing enough for me.
