GM, Ford: Big Mistakes Keep Piling Up
GM, Ford and Chrysler are and will continue to pay the price for bad decisions.....manageme... has continually agreed to ridiculous labor demands....how is an "auto assembly worker" worth $60+ per hour? How can any company send workers home to watch TV and pay them 95% of their regular wages? How can employees not materially invest in cost containment of their medical care? The UAW asked and the "big Three" giveth...enough said.

As far as "marketing" goes they suffer from more of the "ostrich" syndrome..fleeting our their excessive production driven decisions (see above) to their rental car counter parties and letting the retail buyers of their products suffer the consequences in the form of much more rapid depreciation than their US based Asian competitors. I have no sympathy for "The BIg Three"....what comes around goes around!

Get Long SP500 When VIX Hits 30?
VIX and VXN are great contrary indicators, however your target is too low if you are looking for inter day extremes I'd recommend using 36.5 to 37.5 based on history

Stimulus Plan: We're In The Money?
When will "the smoke 'n mirrors" ever end in this financial meltdown ever end....this morning GM tries to disguise it's losses with tax loss carry forward benefits, recently Beazer can't produce it's 10Q, Lennar takes debt on the quarterly earnings (loss) report and somehow magically makes it appear as equity, when they are basically insolvent, AIG's auditors, PricewaterhouseCoopers finally take a stand on CDOs, probably because they're worried about future litigation from breaching their fiduciary responsibility as independent auditors. Where are the bank examiners now, oh I forgot, they work for Berneke, how can I expect them to examine the investment portfolios of quality companies like Coutrywide, Bank America, and ETrade Bank.
Ladies and Gentlemen don't remove your gas masks yet the smoke is yet to clear and the mirror are yet to break.
