Five Good ETF Ideas That Have Yet to Catch On
The Nasdaq-100 is not an "odd" index. It's comprised of the 100 largest Nasdaq-listed companies. The ArcaTech 100 is not comparable. It's sector-specific and QQQQ is exchange-specific. Your criticism is equivalent to faulting DIA for holding only the Dow 30 and then suggesting that IYW is a better pick.

Funny how a benign post like this brings the conversative wackos out of the woodwork.

Using words like "anthropogenic&qu... only makes your statement more ridiculous and ignorant, by the way.

Avoid Options on Inverse Index ETFs
I've seen decent spreads on the QID and SDS options (0.05 - 0.10 at or near the money) and used the puts to make (small) bullish directional bets. Nice way to get some solid leverage.

Five Short Ideas for the Committed Environmentalist
Sounds like someone is long F and GM.

BSC was not able to fail because of the potential ripple effect it would have on the financial industry as a whole. It was also an excellent short and the fact that it didn't go flatout bankrupt doesn't change that.

Auto manufacturers are not privy to the same immunity. In the case of US auto manufacturers, they consistently lose money and absolutely can fail. It would be "downright imprudent" to buy these companies at any price. F is in the midst of an overextended bounce. Choose a timeframe and load up on some cheap puts.
