John Hussman: Market Poised for High Returns
      interesting points

my own main problem w/comparisons is, for example, if "...Stocks are now at the same valuations that existed at the 1990 bear market low..." -

      * how did stocks compare then to previous lows before 1990?

      * how would stocks now compare to stocks at other previous lower lows?

      * what factors might be worse now than then?

having said (worrried) about all that, i have a strong hunch we're at least at a decent tradable low, but that's based mostly on reading ya'll guys and what i understand from what ya'll are saying re oversold sentiments, etc

thank you much, always enjoy reading your work

After Coming Rate Cuts, Some Appealing Short ETFs
i wonder how much the (legitmate) short selling ban, and threat of another at any time on any stocks, has had or will have on the short etf's

has there been reduced volume or correlation in the short financial etf's?

if anyone has good data, that'd be great, thanks

The Deal's Getting Done, But Will It Work?
from the ny times re the current bailout agreement:

"Among the last sticking points...how to pay for any losses that taxpayers may experience after distressed debt has been purchased and resold...

In the end, lawmakers and the administration opted to leave the decision to the next president, who must present a proposal to Congress to pay for any losses."

      for me, this is unacceptable
